When it comes to stealing something there are two ways to go about it: the stealthy and covert way, and the wrong way. Surprisingly, the wrong way actually works, at least for this guy:

A few interesting things to note:

1. No one calls the police on the ax-wielding maniac, and
2. People actually help the ax-wielding maniac.

This is a fine example of the current state of our society: Not only do people not want to pay for bicycles, but others don’t want to be horribly maimed by said people, either.
